Alright I'll explain how this tool is useful to me.

BTW, whenever I mention 'automated', what I mean is setting up a system that's 'hands free', but setting up this system is not in itself automated and always takes time.

The more quality/relevant/interesting posts you make on facebook/twitter, the more you interact with your followers. To grow a fanpage/twitter following without spending much money on services, interaction is key. Your followers will start to grow exponentially because they have friends of friends of friends, who are all seeing your posts on walls/feeds.

For some time I have only been using the free RSS grafitti app on facebook for automating content. I create and connect corresponding twitter accounts. I go out and fetch rss feeds for my niche, for instance quality youtube channel feeds and blog feeds, then enter them into the app. I still do this but I don't like the idea of having content delivered under me that is out of my control. I end up deleting posts from time to time that I wish were never posted.. Nonetheless this technique is still extremely useful.

So what this tool now helps me with is creating something like a 'customized/controlled rss feed.'
I use this tool to gather targeted youtube videos for posting relevant content to twitter/facebook. I search the keywords in quotes on youtube that are relevant to my subject/niche. The amount of videos I grab will vary upon niche. I then scan through and filter the list to keep the relevant, delete the useless. I then take my final results and spend time scheduling facebook posts.

Tools I have found that will schedule for us are:
hootsuite, socialoomph, postcron, postplanner

Hootsuite and socialoomph are free, but they have big downsides. They leave footprint in each post 'posted via hootsuite/socialoomph'. Hootsuite will also posts ads. Socialoomph only posts to twitter and twitter shortens all their links which sucks, so you can't post to facebook with original links. For example, if you post an original youtube video link to facebook and twitter, they will load the video in the post. But if you have your posts going to facebook via twitter, the original video link is shortened by twitter and therefore it won't load the video in your facebook posts, it will just post the shortened twitter link. So yeah, don't use these free tools... or at least I haven't found a good way to use free tools for this...

The best one by far and the one I use is Postplanner $15/month. (Postcron is $4/month, paid hootsuite is $6/month) Postplanner allows me to customize the 'posted via ____' part of posts. It's best to avoid having people see post via hootsuite/rss etc.. because you don't really want them to know your posts are being automated. Honestly though this is really not that big of a deal, just my preference. When so many people are filling out cpa offers daily, most are likely not smart enough to inquire or even care about automated posting.

And of course in addition to all this automated stuff, I manually post and create conversation.

That's basically it, just ask me to clarify if I haven't been thorough enough. This is a rough sped through outline.

Thanks again Harddisk your very appreciated.
